Blackburn Rovers are planning a bid for Portsmouth striker Peter Crouch.
The Sun says Rovers boss Sam Allardyce is after a new targetman, with Roque Santa Cruz set to join Manchester City soon for up to £15m.
Allardyce is a long-term fan of England striker Crouch, who left Liverpool for £11m only last summer, and tried to sign him twice while managing Bolton.
Allardyce said of Crouch as far back as January: "I've always admired him as a player."
