Blackburn, Bolton target Geddes pens Walsall deal

Walsall have secured hot prospect Sean Geddes to a pro contract.

The 16-year-old, a product of the club's youth system, has put pen to paper on a one-year apprenticeship which will be followed by a two-year professional deal starting on June 1 2009.

Blackburn, Bolton and Manchester United have all expressed interest in the midfielder.

"Sean is a very promising youngster and we are delighted," Saddlers' boss Jimmy Mullen told the club's official website.

"There is a long way to go in his development but he is a real talent and looks set to have a bright future.

"The fact that a large number of Premier League clubs have expressed an interest in Sean shows what a talent he is and it shows what a thriving and respected youth system we have in place here."
