Blackburn Rovers haven't lost interest in Chilean players after deciding against a permanent deal for Carlos Villanueva.

Spanish sources say Villarreal's Chile international winger Matías Fernandez is now interesting Rovers boss Sam Allardyce.

Fernandez has been linked with Liverpool and Manchester United in the past and has admitted an ambition to play in England.

Along with Rovers, Bolton Wanderers are also being linked with the young midfielder.
