Blackburn Rovers boss Sam Allardyce hopes to land German keeper Gerhard Tremmel as Paul Robinson's new understudy.
Tremmel starred for Energie Cottbus in the Bundesliga last season but can move for a knockdown fee of around £600,000.
Allardyce wants better competition for Robinson and will let long-term reserve Jason Brown move on.
