Eric Black hopes Wigan Athletic manager Steve Bruce receives a good reception from Birmingham City fans this weekend.

Black, Bruce's No2 at the JJB, told the Sunday Mercury: "I don't know what reception he will get but I would hope that it would be positive because he achieved a lot at that club.

"He's an exceptional manager and he got the club two promotions into the Premier League so I'm pretty sure he will be well received.

"I think he deserves a good reception because what he achieved was amazing and I'm sure the vast majority of Blues fans realise that he did an exceptional job.

"He's the manager of Wigan now and life goes on. We have both got fond memories of Birmingham."
