Birmingham City coach Eric Black insists he's not thinking beyond today's game against Portsmouth.
"I will sit and wait. I've always had the philosophy to give my job 100% effort and not to focus too far ahead.
"It's obviously well documented that Steve Bruce wanted me to go with him to Wigan. But at the moment I am only concentrating upon what is happening at Birmingham City until someone tells me otherwise."
He added: "It's an emotional time when someone leaves a club where he has been for six years and been an exceptional and very successful manager like Steve Bruce.
"So it is obviously going to be a difficult time but we all have to focus on the game against Portsmouth.
"The players have responded magnificently. They are also playing for their positions in the Premiership."
