Bisoli shows class in Cagliari departure

Pierpaolo Bisoli has no grudge against Cagliari over his dismissal this week.

Bisoli has been replaced by Roberto Donadoni and accepts the decision.

"It was an honour and professionally gratifying to coach Cagliari. In these months spent with 'my' Cagliari, I think I grew as a man and as a Coach," he wrote in an open letter to fans.

"During this season I invested my energy into tactical considerations, but also the good of the squad in a wider sense. I'd do anything for the club that allowed me to make my Serie A debut as a manager."

Donadoni was officially appointed today and will make his bow at the weekend.

"I am certain that the colleague who follows me can count on a fine group of players, ready to defend the prestigious colours of a club that rightly follows an ambitious project.

"With pride, I had the honour of being the star of the 2010-11 season ticket campaign. This choice filled me with joy and gave me further motivation to face my duties as Coach.

"I tell the fans to continue following the squad. Cagliari are unique in calcio as the lone representative of an entire island: Sardinia. That should make the bond between fans and club even stronger.

"To President Massimo Cellino and all his collaborators I give my respect and affection. My embrace to the team. I want the lads to know that my every word and gesture were simply aimed at helping them grow.

"At this moment I cannot find other words. The emotions are strong. I'd love to shout, like I did on the field.

"Thank you to everyone: club, team and fans."
