Pierpaolo Bisoli admits he urged Juventus to sign former Cagliari striker Alessandro Matri.
The former Cagliari coach is delighted seeing Matri already amongst the goals for his new club.
"I spoke with the Juventus directors after Alessandro grabbed a great brace in our 4-2 defeat in Turin earlier this season," Bisoli said.
"I made it clear to them that Matri was good enough for a big team. They heard me and now the player is proving as much."
Matri has made a dream start to life in Bianconero and was also included in the Italy squad for last week's 1-1 draw in Germany.
"He's a great player," Bisoli, who was sacked by Cagliari in November, stated. "His qualities can't be doubted.
"He can play as a first or a second striker, he moves a lot and adapts to whoever he is playing alongside. That's why he can play anywhere and everywhere."
