Bischoff hopes for Cup action with Arsenal today

Amaury Bischoff is hopeful of seeing FA Cup action for Arsenal today against Cardiff City.

With England international Theo Walcott still not yet match fit, Amaury Bischoff could find himself handed a call-up into the squad.

The 21-year-old was signed from Werder Bremen over the summer, but has not been able to make a serious impact yet as he continued his recovery from a groin problem.

However, the Portugal Under-21 international has featured in the Carling Cup twice, and also made the bench for the FA Cup third-round tie against Plymouth.

When he finally gets his chance to impress, Bischoff intends to repay the faith of the Arsenal manager.

"I suffered very serious groin trouble at Werder, but Arsene Wenger wanted me anyway, and hired me for one season while I was still injured," he said.

"The first five months at London, I was training all alone. Arsenal saved me. Wenger gave me one more year to come back to the best level.

"After eight months I have already played two matches and appeared a few times in the professional group, but the coach does not want to rush."
