Birmingham's O'Connor prepared for Scotland bench role

Birmingham City striker Garry O'Connor says he'll have no complaints if he starts on the bench for Scotland against Ukraine on Saturday.

O'Connor revealed: "I think Alex McLeish likes me as a player and I have got no problems whatsoever with the manager.

"But I couldn't blame him for going with James McFadden and Kenny Miller.

"They are both playing in the Premier League now, so the competition is hotting up.

"If you are a Scotland fan, you would be happy that a few of your forwards are playing in the Premier League because we haven't had that in recent years.

"I am not playing at the moment for Birmingham, although I came on as a sub against Liverpool and Blackburn.

"So I can have no complaints. I am just hoping that I can get a spot on the bench for these two Scotland games."
