Birmingham City striker Mikael Forssell is convinced he's over his troubling knee problems.
After his hat-trick against Tottenham on Saturday, the Finn said: "I'm asked about my knee injuries but I don't want to think about it any more. I've actually been back from that for about two and a half years.
"It is up to the manager to pick me. There is this perception that if I don't play then I must be injured but it is not true."
Forssell added: "I'm 26 and I'm hoping the best years are in front of me. That is what I am aiming for and that is what I am working towards.
"I've worked a lot in my career to keep going and I need to keep improving. I'm just ticking off all the boxes to try and be the best I can be."
Brum boss Alex McLeish admitted: "When I came here three months ago, my first impression of watching Mikael in training is that he is a finisher and the best finisher we had at the club at that time.
"He is so keen to do well. He wants to train all the time. It is difficult to say to him 'come off the training ground and have a rest' because he is the type of boy who practices his finishing after every session.
"He is a great professional and I don't want him to stop doing what he feels comfortable with because the mental side is as important as the physical side."
