Birmingham City are yet to field a bid from Chelsea for goalkeeper Jack Butland.

Contrary to some reports which suggest the npower Championship club have accepted a bid in the region of £3.5million, Birmingham have only fielded strong interest amid discussions with the European champions and no bid has been tabled, says PA Sport.

Whether that does come ahead of Thursday night's transfer deadline remains to be seen but it is also understood Butland, 19, is not keen on a move to a club where he will not be playing regular first-team football as he looks to continue his development.
