Birmingham City winger Jay O'Shea is delighted with his loan move to Middlesbrough.
O'Shea feels he is fortunate to be playing for a club of Boro's size.
He told the Evening Gazette: "I'm thankful to Middlesbrough for giving me the opportunity. It was deadline day and if I hadn't come I probably wouldn't have got any first team football this season.
"It was a big factor that it was Gordon Strachan who came in for me. This is a massive club to come and get a chance at.
"Usually when you see players going out on loan they have to go to lower clubs in the leagues but it's great that a big club like Boro has given me the chance to get games."
