Birmingham boss Steve Bruce is reportedly ready to test West Brom's resolve by making an offer for left-back Paul Robinson after missing out on Paul Konchesky.
The former Watford man is also being tracked by Roy Keane, who could firm up his interest if he fails to lure Wigan's Leighton Baines to the Stadium of Light.
But Bruce is hoping the fact Robinson, 28, would not need to relocate can give him a headstart on any deal - and is pondering putting a £2million bid on the table at The Hawthorns, according to the Birmingham Mail.
