Birmingham City boss Alex McLeish is eyeing Tottenham's unhappy midfielder Hossam Ghaly.
Ghaly, 26, wants to take a step down into the Championship on loan in a bid to revive his career and is keen for Birmingham to rekindle their interest.
Former manager Steve Bruce agreed a £3million deal for Ghaly in 2007 but the player was critical of Bruce's training methods and went back to Tottenham before having a short loan spell with Derby County.
Now Ghaly hopes Birmingham will give him a fresh chance.
