Birmingham City made an attempt to sign Arsenal fullback Armand Traore last week.

The Birmingham Mail says Brum boss Alex McLeish made an attempt for Traore on loan from Arsenal, but he ended up at Juventus as the Gunners didn't want to include an option to buy as part of the deal.

McLeish admits he had wanted to sign and out-and-out left-back during the summer.
