Birmingham tightlipped on Southampton bid for Butland

Birmingham City are tightlipped on a mooted bid from Southampton for goalkeeper Jack Butland.

The Daily Echo says Birmingham have refused to comment on reports they have turned down a £6million bid from Saints for teenage goalkeeper Jack Butland.

Butland, called into Roy Hodgson's England squad at Euro 2012 as a replacement for Norwich's John Ruddy, is understood to be a top target for newly-promoted Saints, who had an improved offer for the 19-year-old rejected earlier this week.
