Birmingham City are being forced into a rethink over their pursuit of Dundee United striker David Goodwillie.
Birmingham have been keeping tabs on Goodwillie but he has now signed a 12-month contract extension.
The new deal ties him to Tannadice until the summer of May 2013.
Goodwillie, 22, who has also attracted interest from Rangers, has scored 15 goals this season but could still be tempted south of the border - if the terms are right.
