English Championship outfit Barnsley have completed the permanent signing of Garry O'Connor from Birmingham on an initial contract until the end of the season, reports TEAMtalk>/i>. The 27 year old first arrived at Oakwell on loan in September and returned for a second spell in November.

The Scotland international has made eight appearances for the Tykes and has scored three goals.

The former Hibernian striker earned a move to Lokomotiv Moscow in 2006 before Birmingham paid £2.7million to bring him to St Andrews in June 2007
