Birmingham City have allowed Christian Benitez to fly home to Ecuador on compassionate grounds.
Benitez has flown home to Ecuador to be with his father, who was involved in a car crash.
It is likely, however, that he won't be available for Saturday's game at Burnley as he was due back in his homeland after the Turf Moor trip for World Cup qualifiers against Uruguay (October 10) and Chile (October 14).
