Mauro Zarate has again declared he wants to sign permanently with Birmingham City.

"I would like to stay with Birmingham that is the idea and if I get the opportunity to sign a contract I will take it," Zarate, on-loan from Al Sadd, told Sky Sports News.

"Birmingham were the first club to show a genuine interest in me and for that I always be grateful, there has been interest form other English clubs and Spain and Italy, but my only interest is in Birmingham."

Zarate revealed that his close friend Carlos Tevez helped him in his early days.

"I speak to Carlos Tevez all the time and I went to Manchester to see him, he advised me to stay calm about being on the bench and told me to be patient and that I would get my chance," he added.
