Lee Bowyer believes he has nothing to prove to anybody after being given a Premier League lifeline by Birmingham.
Bowyer spent the second half of last season on loan at St Andrews from West Ham and is now looking forward to another campaign in the top flight where he believes his experience will show through.
"Personally, I don't need to prove anything. I've played in the Premier League for 13 years now. I don't think I need to prove anything," Bowyer told the Sunday Mercury.
"I just want to bring experience to Birmingham. That's why I've come here, to help them stay in the Premier League. That would be as much an achievement for me as all the other years I've been playing.
"It's exciting, isn't it? Everybody wants to play at the highest level possible. I know I do. There are a lot of players here with that Premier League experience. Everybody you speak to wants to be in the Premier League.
"There are going to be some tough times, but they're the times you need to stay together."
