Birmingham City are expected to name Chris Hughton as new manager today.
The Daily Mail says the former Newcastle boss returns to football following Alex McLeish's controversial move to Aston Villa.
Hughton led Newcastle to promotion to the Barclays Premier League in 2010 and has been desperate for a return to football since his sacking six months ago.
He was on the shortlist for jobs at West Bromwich and Burnley but held off competition from Gianfranco Zola and Roberto di Matteo to land the Birmingham job.
