Birmingham City defender Liam Ridgewell remains hopeful of an England call.

Manchester City's Joleon Lescott and Everton's Leighton Baines are in Fabio Capello's party this week, along with Aston Villa's Stephen Warnock, for the friendly against Egypt.

But Ridgewell, 23, has his own Wembley and World Cup finals ­ambitions.

He said: "I think the great thing about Fabio Capello is that he doesn't let anybody know who he is looking at.

"You just have to concentrate on your football and everything else will take care of itself.

"I look at it that I am playing left-back and I can also play ­centre-half as well - Lescott has done the same so you never know ."
