Birmingham's Mutch signs with Doncaster Rovers

Birmingham City youngster Jordan Mutch has joined Championship outfit Doncaster Rovers on loan.

The 18-year old midfielder has progressed through the youth ranks at St Andrews and has played first team football at Hereford United when on loan in November but will now get the chance to develop his game further at senior level in a good move for both Birmingham and Doncaster.

"Jordan will come in and add an extra number to the squad," Rovers boss Sean O'Driscoll said.

"With Simon Gillett going back to Southampton, it looks as if that could flounder, so we need as many good players as we can; and Jordan is a talented 18 year-old.

"We've taken him on a youth loan, which gives flexibility to both clubs and we will see how he develops. He's a talented boy and he looks like he has a big future.

"He did well at Hereford on loan and Birmingham City now want to test him at a higher level. We've got a great reputation with young players and have a good environment for them to come."
