Birmingham's Hughton: Brugge and Braga favourites in our group

Despite sitting second on the Europa League Group H table, Birmingham City boss Chris Hughton feels his side are underdogs to qualify for the knockout stage of the competition.

Ahead of tomorrow's home meeting with Belgian outfit Club Brugge, Hughton feels this week's opponents and last season's Europa runners-up Sporting Braga are more favoured to go through.

"For me Brugge and Braga are still favourites in the group because they are the teams that have been there and done it and have got the experience," Hughton told the club's official website.

"The fact that we're at home possibly changes the perspective of what some people think the group might end up as.

"But what we have to remember is that Brugge went away to Braga, who would have initially been the favourites for the group, and got a 2-1 victory.

"Other people would have seen that we went to Brugge and won there and think that makes us clear favourites.

"But after Brugge got such an early goal they took their foot off the pedal a little bit and they probably felt that if they'd got the goals at the right time they could have gone on and won the game.

"I think that makes them that little bit more dangerous and they'll know what we're about and try to deal with it."
