Birmingham City have ruled out allowing midfielder Neil Danns move away on-loan.

Nottingham Forest were rumoured to be interested in signing Danns on a temporary basis, but an injury to Blues midfielder Borja Oubina has put pay to the deal.

The on-loan midfielder ruptured his left anterior cruciate ligament just 13 minutes into his Blues debut against Liverpool and will be out for at least six months.

Blues boss Steve Bruce said: "Neil won't be going on loan after the injury to Oubina.

"I thought that arguably he (Danns) was our best player in the Carling Cup tie at Blackburn and he gives us another option, especially with the injury to Oubina."
