Birmingham City midfielder Barry Ferguson is keen to speak with Craig Levein about a return to the Scotland squad.
Ferguson was banned for life by the Scottish FA for his part in a drinking session following defeat in a World Cup tie in March.
Both Ferguson and Allan McGregor were forbidden from representing their country after flicking V-signs at photographers during April's World Cup qualifier against Iceland.
But Ferguson revealed talks to resolve the dispute could be just around the corner. He said: "There could be a meeting in the near future."
