Birmingham City boss Lee Clark is open to doing business with Swansea City over the sale of Nathan Redmond.
Swans are willing to include Kyle Bartley on-loan in their offer.
The South Wales Echo says Clark is believed to be an admirer of Bartley and is keen not to leave himself short of numbers ahead of the new campaign.
And with Bartley in need of games after failing to force his way into a regular starting spot at the Liberty, it could prove beneficial to both parties.
Bartley, 22, was a £1m signing from Arsenal last year and although impressed in his handful of outings he was cut adrift by manager Michael Laudrup towards the tail-end of the campaign.
With Swansea known to be chasing further centre-backs, it would pave the way to letting Bartley leave for first-team experience.
