Birmingham City boss Alex McLeish is eyeing Manchester United defender Jonny Evans.

The 20-year-old defender spent the final five months of last season on loan at Sunderland, which was his second loan spell at the Stadium of Light.

Sunderland manager Roy Keane wants Evans back for a third stint next season. McLeish has also targeted him to strengthen his squad as he starts to plan for life in the Championship.
