Birmingham City's ownership issues will see them miss out on released Manchester United striker Kiko Macheda.
The Birmingham Mail says Lee Clark said he would love to sign Macheda on a free this summer and would 'ask the question'.
But he knows what the answer is already as there is still no takeover breakthrough in Hong Kong as parent company directors are yet to agree on which bid to go with.
And although Macheda intimated during his stay that Blues were the kind of club he would like to join to reboot his career, Clark remains in the dark over the extent of his budget.
