Birmingham midfielder Fahey takes aim at Villa boss McLeish

Birmingham City midfielder Keith Fahey has taken a swipe at Aston Villa boss Alex McLeish.

McLeish, Hughton's predecessor, usually stuck Fahey on the left after signing him from St Patrick's Athletic in January 2009, but the 28-year-old reckons playing in the centre of the pitch brings the best out of him.

"I want to make one of those midfield spots my own, because since I've come I haven't really had a chance in there," said Fahey.

"There's been excuses about not playing me in there, and playing a three.

"I think I was a little bit undervalued, yes.

"You are never going to see the best of me out on the left and you're never going to see the best of me if I'm thrown into the middle one game, then back out to the left one game."
