Birmingham City boss Alex McLeish has launched a record £10 million bid for Chile World Cup striker Humberto Suazo.
The chunky forward - nicknamed The Fat Man - did well on a shop-window loan spell with Real Zaragoza last season but they failed to pay the cash to buy him, says the Mirror.
Now the Blues are in talks with Suazo's Mexican club Monterrey and are prepared to pay the asking price for the 29-year-old who had a decent run of games in the recent South African finals.
Blues are prepared to pay the fee in stages and have emerged as the most serious bidder, but the Chilean may take some persuading to join them.
