Birmingham City will make an improved offer for Palermo striker Fabrizio Miccoli this week.
Sicilian sources say Brum are increasing their offer for Miccoli to £5m, but that could still be considered too low for Palermo.
Their initial £4m bid for the 'Pocket Striker' was rejected last week and interested parties told he is not for sale.
However, Palermo President Maurizio Zamparini has stated he could change his mind if Miccoli requested the transfer.
"Miccoli is guaranteed to remain at Palermo unless he comes to me and says he has received a stratospheric offer he cannot refuse.
"In that case, seeing as we care about him, we could sit around the table and discuss the situation."
