Birmingham City are ready to make Kevin Kuranyi the highest paid player in their history.
The Mirror says Birmingham have offered to make Schalke striker Kuranyi the highest-paid player in their history on £50,000-a-week.
City manager Alex McLeish has been given a large transfer kitty by new Hong Kong owner Carson Yeung.
And Yeung wants to get a high-profile striker to help market the club in the Far East.
Brazil-born forward Kuranyi, 27, has been put up for sale at around £3.5million by his Bundesliga club as he is out of contract next summer.
But Kuranyi has told Brum he will only move to them if they pay him a huge salary worth at least £3m a year.
