Birmingham knocked back in move for Moscow forward Odemwingie

According to the Russian club, Birmingham have failed in a £1.6m offer for Lokomotiv Moscow forward Peter Odemwingie. Nigeria international Odemwingie, who featured at this summer's World Cup was a target and Lokomotiv claim to have rejected an offer from The Blues.

The 28-year-old only has one year remaining on his contract in Russia but Lokomotiv are still understood to want a fee in the region of £8million for the former Lille player.

Lokomotiv president said in The Sun: "The offer of Birmingham of €2million seemed ridiculous to us."
