Birmingham keeper Taylor hopes to have given Eck selection dilemma

Birmingham City goalkeeper Maik Taylor says he hopes he's given Alex McLeish a selection headache after his cleansheet against Manchester City.

Having had the decision made for him against Manchester City, the Blues boss must now opt to recall Joe Hart or stick with Taylor for next Monday's trip to Liverpool.

Taylor will now leave the decision up to his manager - but insists he won't throw a strop if dropped at Anfield.

"We (goalkeepers) can only keep a clean sheet so I've come in and done that," said the 38-year-old to Birmingham Mail.

"Hopefully the manager will have something to think about. I certainly won't be banging doors down, as much as I want to play, I don't think I'll achieve anything by that.

"The manager has got a decision to make for the Liverpool game. Only time will tell and we'll wait and see. I'll prepare myself in the meantime and hopefully I'll get the opportunity, if not then I'll be there to support Joe.

"I'm disappointed I didn't start the season and Joe's come in so I've had to be very patient. I got an opportunity on Sunday because Joe can't play against his (parent) team. I'd like to think I had a decent game and we'll see where that takes us."
