Birmingham City goalkeeper Joe Hart isn't taking England World Cup selection for granted.

On a season's loan from Manchester City, his form has led him to the verge of a place in Fabio Capello's squad for South Africa. But he knows he still needs to do more.

"I'm not England's No 1 goalkeeper," Hart told The Times. "But that's the aim and whatever comes with it, I can cope with. If I couldn't, I don't think I'd be sat here now. You've just got to look at [James]. He's had everything thrown at him, but it doesn't faze the guy.

"Sometimes when someone does well, they can get built up in the press. Then as soon as you do something wrong, all the people who have been smiling and patting you on the back will smash you to pieces."
