Birmingham City goalkeeper Jack Butland is on track to become England's youngest ever shot-stopper.
Manchester City keeper Joe Hart and Chelsea striker Daniel Sturridge have both been ruled out of the friendly against Italy in Berne with back and toe injuries respectively.
But Three Lions boss Roy Hodgson has taken the unusual decision not to call-up any replacements - meaning Birmingham's Butland and Norwich's John Ruddy are the only two stoppers left in his squad.
Neither man has ever won a senior cap, so at least one will make their bow against the Euro 2012 runners-up.
