Birmingham join push for Hull winger Hunt

Hull City winger Stephen Hunt is the subject of a three-way Premiership battle.

The Sunday Mercury says interest in the Republic of Ireland international from West Brom and Wolves is already known, but it has now been indicated that Birmingham City have also entered the race alongside their local rivals.

Hunt has been keen to play down fears that he will miss the start of the season with the foot injury that ended his last campaign prematurely and is confident of being back in full training by August.

Wolves had a £5 million offer for the ex-Brentford man in January, but could now bag him for £3 million.

Hunt is close friends with Wolves striker and former Reading team-mate Kevin Doyle but that doesn't necessarily mean that the Molineux club are in the box seat.
