Birmingham City are backing Liverpool to beat Manchester United for this season's Premiership title.

Brum managing director Karren Brady wrote in her diary for The Sun: "I'm very keen Liverpool beat United to the Premier League title because they'd pay us half a million pounds for the pleasure.

"Why? Well a player called Jermaine Pennant, who joined us from Arsenal, but was sold to Liverpool and now plays at Portsmouth is the answer. You have to love those knock-on clauses."
