Liverpool have rejected an offer from Birmingham City for winger Ryan Babel.

The Sun says Liverpool have turned down a £9million bid from Birmingham for the Dutch striker, 23, who would prefer to move abroad.

Yet if Fiorentina, Ajax or other clubs move in, it is unlikely Rafa Benitez will get the cash until the summer.

The money will be earmarked for the next transfer window when far more of Benitez's targets will be available.
