Birmingham face Turkish competition for Rangers striker Boyd

Rangers striker Kris Boyd admits he is weighing up a move away this summer.

The Scotland striker's current deal at Ibrox expires in the summer and he has been offered an extension by the SPL champions.

However, there is plenty of interest in the 26-year-old, with Birmingham and Middlesbrough both keen to offer Boyd a move to England.

Wolves, Wigan and Championship winners Newcastle are also rumoured to be interested, while reports claim Turkish duo Ankaragucu and Bursaspor want the former Kilmarnock forward.

Boyd accepts he faces a difficult decision regarding his future and will spend the next few weeks assessing where to play his football next season.

"There is a lot for me to think about," Boyd told the Daily Record. "This is an important stage in my career and my life.

"I'm going away on holiday with my family next week and we will discuss our options.

"I do have offers from the continent to consider and playing abroad is something that appeals to me.

"I will give everything careful consideration and hopefully can reach a decision during the next three weeks."
