Birmingham confident Palacios kidnapping close to conclusion

Birmingham City are confident of a quick resolution over the kidnapping of Wilson Palacios' brother.

The Birmingham Mail says Blues believe that their could be an imminent resolution to the saga of Palacios's kidnapped brother Edwin Rene.

Negotiations with the abductors of the 15-year-old have been going on for the last five days.

They have demanded a ransom and another brother, Milton, and the Honduran authorities have been speaking to the group in a bid to resolve the issue.

Palacios has stayed in Birmingham and trained as normal with Blues, but naturally remains worried for his sibling's safety.

He was left out of the Blues team that lost 3-1 at Everton on Saturday as he was understandably not in the right frame of mind to concentrate on football.
