Birmingham City's proposed deal for Spanish schemer Michel from Sporting Gijon is close to completion.

Michel, 24, has agreed a three-and-a-half-year contract at St Andrews, worth around £15,000-a-week.

New Brum chief executive Michael Dunford now just has to thrash out the instalments for the transfer fee as the Spanish club want the cash in two payments in the next 12 months, says the Mirror.
