Birmingham are ready to step up their interest in Wolfsburg striker Grafite if he can gain a work permit, says the Daily Mail.
Alex McLeish is exploring the possibilities for the tall, 31-year-old Brazilian who has scored 50 goals in 79 games for Steve McClaren's side but has only four caps.
He is available on loan with view to a £5million permanent deal.
