Birmingham City boss Alex McLeish is lining up a £6 million raid on Derby County for midfield pair Kris Commons and Giles Barnes.
The Mirror says McLeish wants to offer winger Commons, 25, a dream move to the Premier League in a £4million deal. But the Blues will have to fight off interest from Wigan.
Midfielder Barnes - who has spent the last four months on loan at Fulham - will cost around £2m.
Barnes, 20, has been recommended to Big Eck by Academy Manager Terry Westley, who previously held the same role at Pride Park.
