Birmingham City may finally get the striker they have been looking for this month with news that Obafemi Martins will join on rest-of-season loan.
The 26-year old Nigerian can join the Blues on loan from Russian Premier League club Rubin Kazan for £350,000.
Martins joined Rubin after spending a year with German Bundesliga outfit VfL Wolfsburg but the Russians are prepared to loan the former Newcastle United man out for the remainder of the English season.
West Bromwich Albion were believed to be leading the race for Martins but it seems as though Birmingham will trump their initial offer.
