Birmingham City boss Gary Rowett admits Aston Villa's line-up was leaked to them 24 hours before last night's Capital One Cup defeat.

Villa eventually ran out winners to foil Rowett as Tim Sherwood made a double substitution at half-time before Rudy Gestede headed in on 62 minutes.

Rowett said: “We had a tip-off about their team yesterday.

“As often happens you get a little tip off from somebody, sometimes they are right, we didn't chase it.

“First half we were excellent and dominated and got our tactics right."
