He just returned from a six-month loan at QPR and had trained with Birmingham City, going on their pre-season tour, but is now back on Italian soil.
“He came and trained for three or four weeks, a great attitude, he was not a minute's problem," said Birmingham manager Harry Redknapp.
“We offered his club to pay a part of his wages. That was the best we could do, I wasn't prepared to pay all of his wages.
“We said 'We will give you a bit towards them if you want to take it'.
“And at the moment they have not accepted what we offered. Ravel was good, he came in and worked hard but we are not prepared to pay all of his wages.
“If they want to lower the amount they are going to have to subsidise a big part of it."
